On September 6, 1977, in New York City, Victor Santiago Jr., known as N.O.R.E. or Noreaga, was born. He never shared any information about his family members.

Education

N.O.R.E. had been interested in singing since childhood. He entered the hip-hop scene in 1995 with Kiam “Capone” Holley, a fellow rapper from Queens. While serving a sentence for attempted murder in Greenhaven Prison in New York, Noreaga met Capone.

Capone-N-Noreaga is a musical project that Noreaga and Capone started after their release from prison. They quickly rose to the top of New York’s hottest rap duos. They released their debut album “The War Report” in 1996. When things were starting to go well for the duo, Capone was once more given a prison sentence for breaking the terms of his parole.

Solo Career

Noreaga re-started his solo artistic career while waiting for the release of his partner. In 1998, he released his Platinum-certified solo debut album, “N.O.R.E.

N.O.R.E. pursued a solo career and changed his name to N.O.R.E. after being inspired by the enormous success of his solo record. His second solo album, named “Melvin Flynt- Da Hustler,” was released in 1999. He issued his third album, “God’s Favorite,” after three years in 2002. His third album was also a big hit and was given the Platinum certification. The album’s song “Nothin” became one of the rapper’s biggest hits.

Reggae experimentation also got started by N.O.R.E. He released the track “Oye Mi Canto” in 2004 as a tribute to his Puerto Rican heritage. It was an instant hit. N.O.R.E., encouraged by his recent success, released a full reggaeton album in 2006. But it wasn’t as successful as his prior albums. 

Following the release of his album “Student Of The Game” in 2013, N.O.R.E. declared that he would be concentrating on a career as a music executive.
