Who is Julia Haart?
Julia Haart works as an American fashion designer, entrepreneur, and author. She was previously known as Talia Leibov. She successfully worked as the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Elite Model Management. But her claim of being a co-owner was proved false as she did not have 50 percent shares. Moreover, Haart was the creative director of La Perla and even worked as an executive producer of the Netflix series ‘My Unorthodox Life,’ which foreshadowed her decision to part ways with the Haredi community in 2013.

Early Life
Haart was born on 11th April 1971, in Moscow, Russia. Her family decided to move to Austin, Texas in 1974, where she was enrolled in a private school. Her family then moved to Monsey, New York, where Haart attended Bais Yaakov Academy in Brooklyn. By 16, she grew fond of sewing, stitching, and following top fashion trends. Just when she turned 19, Haart married her first husband, who was five years senior to her.
Professional Career
She kicked off her career by working as a Judaic Studies teacher at Yeshiva Atlanta. She was regarded as one of the finest teachers who was dearly loved by her students and fellow staff. Right after leaving the Haredi community in 2013, she introduced a shoe brand “Julia Haart”, which provided both trendy and comfortable shoes. In 2016, she partnered as a creative director with La Perla for their upcoming 2016 accessory collections. She was successful in gaining recognition for her work and consequently launched a new campaign for ready-to-wear lingerie for the company. Her 2017 Fall show showcased her new collection and featured highly-ranked models like Kendall Jenner. This show was the sole reason for her affiliation with the American Model Kendall Jenner, who then walked the 2017 Met Gala wearing the dress designed by Haart. The gown consisted of 85,000 beads attached to one string. Her career in fashion took off again when she signed a contract with Elite World Group as their chief executive officer in March 2019. It is important to note that the owner of this company Silvio Scaglia was actually Haart’s husband (now ex-husband). She worked hard in gaining positive media attention for the company and became the creative head of e1972, a luxury sub-brand of EWG. The brand was celebrated for its exclusivity and unique fashion trends. In February 2022, she was removed from her position as the creative director by her ex-husband and since then there is a feud over shares.
Legal Battles
Right after leaving EWG, Haart sued her ex-husband Scaglia over fraud charges. She claims that she has an equal share in the company, and thus equal rights. It was therefore illegal for Scaglia to oust her from her duties and her own company. However, the court ruled in favor of her ex-husband and it was declared that Haart owns less than fifty percent shares of the company.
Personal Life
Haart has four children with Yosef Hendler (her first husband), namely Batsheva, Shlomo, Miriam, and Aron. Batsheva is a social media influencer, and Miriam is enrolled in high school, but both adopted their mother’s last name ‘Haart’. Haart re-married in June 2019. Her new husband was a Swiss businessman, Silvio Scaglia. She later divorced her second husband too in February 2022. Haart has eight siblings and she is the eldest of them all. Her family stopped talking to her when she left the Haredi community in 2013 (she only has a relationship with her one sister Hannah). Apart from this, Haart was featured in the Netflix series ‘My Unorthodox Life,’ which was released in July 2021. The documentary revolves around Haart’s professional and personal life but it has been viewed critically by many Jewish people.
